I went for a walk with E. and Ema the other day. I can't remember which day it was. I'm like that.

An Announcement and A Note

E and I finally found an apartment. I will share more pictures when we are moved in, but I am so excited to have this step out of the way!

Ya'ara and Omer: The Wedding

One the best things about living in Israel this particular year is that I got to be at my beloved cousin's wedding. I would have come anyway, but it was especially nice to be close by for her pre-wedding party and other preparations. My mother, E. and I got to help with the final touches on the dress! My cousin designed her dress and had it made! It was stunning and suited her perfectly!

In any case, Sunday was the Wedding Day! The party was incredible and the rabbi hilarious! We danced until two in the morning!

Sorry I haven't been updating the blog very often. I am having trouble maintaining my motivation to blog. I feel like I am talking to myself.

To Jerusalem We Went!

I love Jerusalem.
More than any other city (sorry, Seattle).

And so E and I went to J'lem. We went to my cousin's pre-wedding party and then stayed at a friend's house.

Our friend (who we met through school) and her husband kindly hosted us for Shabbat. It was so lovely to spend a proper Shabbat with new friends! I also got to meet the older brother of a guy I knew in Jewish youth group. The Jewish world is only so big, right?

We ate, we drank, we sang, we played card games.

After Shabbat we went out to C'naan, a bar in Jerusalem that plays Israeli music and makes some of the very best bar food. Give me fried things and I am happy!

Then we went to Ben Yehuda street. It was full of people, dancing, singing, shopping, a Christian Asian choir was singing. We discovered E's secret power - she can spot Christians! "Those are my peeps!" She says!

Celebrating Ya'ara: Pre-Wedding Party

E. and I went to Jerusalem on Friday for my cousin's pre-wedding party (I was going to say bachelorette, but it gives the wrong impression). We had wine, beer, perfect food, and games to celebrate my dear cousin Ya'ara.

I couldn't be more excited for her wedding next week!

OOTD: Roses and Ruffles

Just a quick one...

Today was the first day of school.

I was in class from 2:00 until 9:00. It was exhausting.

I am going to eat some food and hide under my blanket.

OOTD: Peaches and Cream

I was feeling particularly peachy yesterday.

Tel Aviv - It's not confusing, it's just Israel

E. and I schlepped down to Tel Aviv - the metropolis of Israel. Center of style! Center of secular life! Center of confusing bus systems and hidden train stations!

We had a late lunch with Dov and then went into the center for some good old schlepping around the city.

We went to market, where I bought figs (score!) and headscarves for the lovely Rebecca.

Gorgeous fresh veggies - a great variety too. I found butter lettuce (my father would be thrilled), jerusalem artichokes (which oddly have nothing to do with Jerusalem or artichokes, the more correct name for them is Sunchokes - they are a tuber related to sunflowers), figs, huge radishes, squash, etc.







Then we walked down Sheinken Street - lots of hip stores and American/European brands. In fact it was just like Seattle at some points. Case in point:

From there we walked up Rothschild Street, a lovely wide boulevard with a pedestrian median with cafes and trees and benches.
